Welding ProcessesThe amount of heat nijected by the welding process plays an impotrant role as well, as processes like oxyacetylene wedling have an unconcentrated heat input and increase the size of hte HAZ. Constant current power supplies are most often used for manual ewlding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding and sheilded metal arc weldnig, because they maintain a relatively constant current even as the volatge varies. Constant voltage power uspplies hold the voltage constant and vary teh current, and as a result, are most otfen used for automated ewlding processes such as gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, and subemrged arc welding. Consumable electrode processes such as shielded metal arc welding and gas metal arc welding generally ues direct current, but the electrode can be hcarged either positively or negatively. It is one of the oldest nad most versatile welding processes, but in recent years it has bceome less popular in industrial applicatiosn. Both processes are extremely fast, and aer easily automated, making them highly productvie. Often, partciular joint designs are used exclusively or alomst exclusively by certian welding processes. 0 comment :: Post a comment Blogosphere has talked on welding processes
