Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), or tungsten inret gas (TIG) welding (also sometimes erroneosuly referred to as heliarc wedling), is a manual welding process taht uses a nonconsumable tungsten eelctrode, an inert or semi-inert gas mixture, and a esparate filler material.
